"Reach For The Stars" (Mars Edition) was played today, for the first time "out on the surface" of the planet at 4pm EST (August 28, 2012) and was transmitted by NASA TV.

The whole concept involves teaching the students how the transmission across the space and the mission of the "Curiosity" Rover on Mars will work for the next two years. This project is a collaboration of NASA and Black Eyed Peas "i.am.angel" Foundation.

102 millions of kilometers. And yet, from that old and mysterious planet, we have been able to transmit music, images, video, and control an almost 900 kg rover that will be roaming the Mars surface for the next martian year (1.88 of an earth year).
