Después de varios cambios de directores (incluido Guillermo del Toro), de fechas y de cast, por fin se inicia el rodaje de tan esperada precuela. Es Peter Jackson quien se adentrará nuevamente en la Tierra Media para dar vida a los personajes de Tolkien y seguramente no decepcionará a miles de fanáticos que lo apoyaron a través de blogs y redes sociales para que fuese él y nadie más, quien retomara el proyecto. El día de ayer se dio el claquetazo inicial de rodaje.
La creación de la Trilogía del Señor de los anillos, tomó casi 10 años desde la escritura del guión hasta la pantalla. Y realmente podía sentirse el compromiso de los realizadores por darle vida a un mundo que se ha creado en la mente de los lectores desde el 21 de Septiembre de 1937, cuando se publicó el primer libro que sería el prologo de esta historia: "El Hobbit". Con más de 70 años siendo uno de los libros más leídos de todos los tiempos, no lo tomaron a la ligera esta empresa.

En la siguiente foto vemos a un Peter Jackson totalmente distinto al que enfrentaba los primeros días de rodaje de "La comunidad del anillo", ahora en los primeros días de rodaje de "El Hobbit" y ya recuperado de la operación de una ulcera que pospuso aun más el rodaje de la cinta.
Será realizada en dos partes (estreno para finales de 2012 y 2013 respectivamente) y sin duda será una de las películas más esperadas después del gran boom que genero la Trilogía del Señor de los Anillos, basada en una de las grandes novelas de nuestros tiempos.
Además de los conocidos problemas entre New Line Cinema y Peter Jackson, también había problemas por los derechos de "El Hobbit" entre la compañía y "Tolkien State" (organización dueña del patrimonio literario de Tolkien y precedida por su hijo, Christopher Tolkien). Los problemas se originaron cuando New Line Cinema no cumplió en pagar a la familia Tolkien el 7.5% de los 6000 millones de dolares que generó la trilogía (158 millones de dolares aproximadamente)*. Caso parecido al de Peter Jackson, el cual demandó a New Line por aproximadamente 100 millones de dolares que se le debían de la explotación de la película y DVD.
Al parecer las negociaciones llegaron a un final feliz...
Guillermo del Toro también estuvo muy involucrado en el proyecto. Dedicó casi dos años al diseño de producción y adaptaciones del guión. Pero cuando se dieron los problemas financieros de la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, renunció al proyecto.
Entonces queda finalmente en manos de Peter lo que desde un principio le pertenecía.

It will be Peter Jackson who will get into the Middle Earth again to bring to life Tolkien’s characters and surely he won’t disappoint the thousands of fans that supported him through blogs and social networks. It had to be him and no one else who should retake the project. Yesterday they started with the first clap.
The creation of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy took almost 10 years since the script writing to the screen. And you could really feel the commitment of the filmmakers in giving life to a world created on the readers mind since September 21, 1973, when the first book that would be the prologue to this story: “The Hobbit”. On the next picture we can see a Peter Jackson totally different to the one that confronted the first’s days of shooting of “The fellowship of the ring”, now in the first’s days of shooting of “The Hobbit” and recovered from an ulcer operation that postponed more the shooting.
It will be realized on two parts (being released on 2012 and 2014 fall respectively) and without a doubt it will be one of the most anticipated movies after the great boom that generated the Trilogy of Lord of the Rings, based on one of the greatest novels of our times.
Aside from the known problems between New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson, there were also problems for “The Hobbit” rights between the company and “Tolkien State” (organization owner of Tolkien’s literary inheritance and presided by his son, Christopher Tolkien). The problems began when New Line Cinema didn’t complied to pay to Tolkien’s family 7.5% of the 6000 million dollars that the trilogy made (158 million dollars approximately). This case was similar to Peter’s, who sued New Line Cinema for approximately 100 million dollars that they owed him from the movie exploitation and DVD’s.
It seems like the negotiations had a happy ending…
Guillermo del Toro was also involved on the Project. He dedicated almost two years to the development of the production design and the script adaptation. But he dropped the project when the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer had financial problem.
At last, it’s on Peter’s hands what since the beginning belonged to him.
